Our Certifications
All of our mattresses are GREENGUARD Gold certified, passing testing with the most sensitive of individuals in mind. Visit the UL website here to view certifications on each of our mattresses. In addition our materials also carry industry certifications for quality and purity standards: eco-INSTITUT, GOTS Organic Certified*, Oeko-Tex Certified, GOLS certified.
Our mattresses have also been tested by the UL corporation to be compliant with California Proposition 65, also known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986. Additional UL Labs test results can be viewed here.

As you are probably aware, the government requires all mattresses to pass burn tests. We are able to pass both the 1633 open flame test and 1632 cigarette test by quilting natural wool into the organic cotton cover of your mattress, without use of any chemical flame retardants. Wool is a natural flame retardant and was used in years past to make firemen’s coats.
Our 100% natural wool is sourced from a company in California. The wool batting is 100% natural, is not treated with any flame retardants, and contains no polyester fibers. Our wool is cleaned with an alcohol based cleaner that is GOTS compliant.
Our Pure Echo and Natural Escape Mattresses are tufted by hand to secure the layers of each mattress together as we do not use dangerous chemical adhesives. Tufting is a technique that dates back hundreds of years and is now used by only the finest mattress makers. Tufting makes our mattress very durable by preventing shifting or bunching of the comfort layers during shipping and throughout the life of the mattress. Tufting also pre-compresses the innerspring to ensure each mattress has a consistent feel for many years to come.
Our tufts are evenly spaced across each mattress. The cord is then secured to the top of the mattress with a small circular piece of felt. The cord is made from polyester, because it needs to be strong enough to hold the compressed mattress. The cord features a thin metal aglet made from non-recycled American steel that holds the tufting cord in place and keeps it’s end from fraying, just like a shoelace. Currently, we do not tuft our Hope Latex Mattress or Emily Crib Mattress.

Shipping
Free Shipping is offered via FedEx and applies to the Continental 48 United States. Additional shipping fees will be calculated for orders being shipped to Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada. Terms are subject to change and are void where prohibited by law.
Mattresses delivered by FedEx ground/home delivery are roll-packed in heavy duty plastic wrap and cardboard. We will email a 12-digit FedEx tracking # to you after your order is processed. The email lets you know we intend to ship your order with our next FedEx pickup. You will be able to track your order on FedEx.com/track AFTER this pickup. If you check the tracking # and it is invalid, it just means the order has not yet been tendered by FedEx and will become valid once this has occurred. On FedEx.com/track you can sign up for email notifications so that you know exactly when your order arrives. My Green Mattress does NOT require signature for your order unless you request us to do so.

We begin hand-making your new mattress as soon as we receive your order. Your mattress may be ready to ship that day or it might take a few days. When it is ready we will ship your mattress to your home via FedEX. You can expect to be enjoying your new mattress in as early as 7-14 business days (if not sooner) from the date you order, depending on the day of week you order and your distance from our Illinois workshop.
Mattresses delivered by FedEx are roll-packed in heavy duty plastic wrap and cardboard for added protection from possible damage during shipping. Watch our roll packing video
Open your mattress in the bedroom where you plan to keep it. We always recommend having two people lift our mattresses as they are heavy. Place the roll-packed mattress on your foundation. Locate the seam of the mattress and cut along it, being careful not to cut your mattress. The mattress is compressed so it will unroll quickly. Once unwrapped, your mattress should be ready to sleep on immediately. Watch this video of one customer unwrapping their new mattress so you know what to expect! We do recommend unwrapping the mattress right away, or within four weeks of receiving it to prevent any issues that may void your warranty.

Latex
There are many reasons to choose a natural latex mattress. Our latex mattresses conform to your body and alleviate pressure to offer extraordinary orthopedic support. Latex is resilient and is the most durable cushioning material available; it provides years of restful sleep without sagging. The cell structure of latex makes your mattress breathable, which means you will be cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Latex is also ideal for allergy sufferers.
It is naturally hypoallergenic, dust mite resistant, and antimicrobial, which inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold, and mildew. The natural latex rubber used in our mattresses is derived from the sap of the rubber tree, while memory foam is a chemically produced synthetic petroleum product. Natural latex is safer for people with chemical sensitivities, is more durable, and normally outlasts memory foam. Most people find natural latex more comfortable as memory foam does not circulate heat effectively and has a sinking feeling. The latex in our mattresses is breathable, resilient and conforming for the best night’s sleep possible.
Allergic reactions to the natural latex used in our mattresses are rare, but possible. Less than one percent of the population experiences allergic reactions when coming in direct contact with natural latex. It is much more common to have allergies to the synthetic latex blends used in gloves.
We cannot guarantee that our products will be non-allergenic for everyone. If you are concerned about a latex allergy, please contact us to request a free sample. At a doctor’s discretion, you can test for a skin reaction by taping the sample latex to your arm overnight. We also offer a latex-free mattress option. Our mattresses do not have a chemical odor, nor do they off-gas any dangerous chemicals. However, you may notice natural odors from organic cotton and wool, that are more pronounced in humid climates. Any smell will dissipate quickly. If you are sensitive to these natural odors we recommend airing out your new mattress or leaving it in the sun in a dry climate before sleeping on your new bed.
Our mattresses contain lofty filling materials like wool, organic cotton, and latex that will compress when you first start sleeping on your new mattress. In order to prevent body impressions, we recommend spinning your mattress (head to toe) once every month for the first six months. After the first six months, we recommend spinning your mattress once every season or so, about every 3-4 months.
Our Guarantee
Your mattress is a long-term investment in your comfort and health. We want to make sure you are happy with your new mattress for years to come. My Green Mattress offers a 100-night no-risk trial with an opportunity to exchange or return your mattress at any time during the trial period. Although every one of our mattresses are eligible for a return for a full refund, we offer one exchange per household (exchanges are accepted for another model, not for another size). Should you decide to make an exchange, you will be charged the difference of the cost of the new mattress. Please note that exchanged mattresses are final sale and not eligible for return.
Mattress protectors are not covered under this sleep trial. Customers have one week from delivery of mattress protectors to return. Returned mattress protectors must be unused and in their original packaging in order to be returned. Used protectors will not be accepted. A $15 return fee will be assessed to cover shipping costs.
Mattress toppers carry the same 100 Night Sleep Trial as our mattresses, however will require shipment back in original packaging with a return shipping label that will be provided.
In many cases our products are sent out to our customers on the same day their order is placed. We will only be able to issue a full refund and accommodate a cancellation request if you contact us before your order leaves our factory. Please call us promptly at 877-737-8237 or email us at orders@mygreenmattress.com to make any changes or to cancel your order.
In the event that your order has already shipped, we ask that you refuse the FedEx delivery of your order. In case you are not present when your order is delivered, please contact and we will send you a return shipping label and help you set-up a return via FedEx. All packages must be unopened and in the original packaging in order to be eligible for a refund. Read more here.
My Green Mattress offers the original purchaser a 25-year limited warranty on all adult size mattresses. Your mattress will be repaired or replaced, at our option, should it be found defective because of faulty workmanship or material defects. Transportation fees will apply. Our Emily Crib Mattress carries a full 10-year warranty, mattress toppers have a 3-year warranty and mattress protectors have a 1-year warranty. See the details and exclusions here.
Exchanges
Exchanges follow the same process of a return. We do require donation of the original mattress prior to shipping a replacement. Customers exchanging mattresses will be required to pay the difference between the original mattress and the cost of the new mattress.
Set-up
Any firm flat surface will work for your new mattress, including the floor. If you choose a slatted foundation or boxspring, we recommend that the slats be no more than 3 inches apart. If you are not sure, try adding a bunkie board or piece of plywood between the slatted foundation and the mattress. The flat surface will offer the proper support needed.
